Well okay maybe not, but if this ever comes to Steam on the PC I might have to try it if the reviews aren't terrible...

...but let's face it, I'll probably just go and boot up my Amiga instead.

I wonder how many levels of parallax scrolling it'll have? A David Whittaker soundtrack? ;)

Honestly though, they'll have to seriously improve the gameplay as the game was basically a tech demo. Beast II was a little better, but I never played three. I had the T-shirt from Beast II for years until it eventually fell apart.

I remember getting Beast II and finding the ten pints code with my Action Replay within a couple of minutes. Ah, Amiga memories...

I think the tech demo opinion (widely thrown criticism, not just you!) is a bit unfair. The gameplay shares a lot in common with arcade games, it's simple and tough.

That said there was always a limit to how far I could get in it, and I did often then go play something else. ;)

I always felt it prioritised graphics/sound over gameplay. There were far more enjoyable and complex games on the Amiga around the same time. That said, I liked Dragon's Lair some I'm a bit of a hypocrite!

I never actually finished it either, but I watched a longplay video earlier and I actually got quite close:

Heh yes I'm the same with Dragons Lair, I know it's not a great gameplay mechanic, especially evil when it requires you to put money in the slot. But I just like something about it too.

For a while I was trying to complete it in my arcade cab, but kept hitting a scene no matter what I did I couldn't escape from, I think it was the one involving stairs to the right, and loads of tentacles. Maybe it's my timing but that always defeats me. :(
