Proving that they are still getting things wrong, you can now play SimCity free for a limited time...

...that time being 4 hours, and the clock starts ticking the moment you launch the game apparently, even if you close it. So if you launch it to set the graphics resolution, then quit, then come back a few hours later, it will have expired.
