i have had this film delivered today and plays no problem at all on my M5 but as this is supposed to be an RCE disc, there is no mention anywhere on the cover that it is or on the disc and i was wondering if it actually is an RCE disc.
is it normal not to mention this on the packaging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it`s because it`s a Warner Bros title, Columia + Warner put RCE on thier dvd`s, i think play are just covering thier backs.

Yes, its play covering their backs - says it "may" have RCE on it.

My Sony plays R1 only if not RCE, and I have the Shining R1 that works OK.

Is it the old or new remastered version though?

this is the new remastered version and while were on the subject of this superb film i recommend getting the R1 version over the R2 version as it is 30mins longer than the uk version and explains the unfolding events in full and for the life of me,i can`t understand why kubrick cut the film for the uk market?

anyway i think we can safely say that this R1 disc is not RCE protected.
