The interview DVD (N Korea)

Could not find an old thread about it, so......

Controversial film which Kim Jong did not like one bit, as the story is about 'taking him out'

My oldest son bought if for me for Xmas at £7 for the DVD, did not even know it was out in the UK. Was bored last night, so we sat down and watched it. He can get me another present, there is still time

Acting was hillarious, some real eye watering stuff, though language is real foul in places, with smut humor. A few bits of violence as well, but done in the best possible taste (not).

The guy playing kim was real funny (but has an American accent), and some moment were just crazy, but a most enjoyable film.

You really need to like the two main stars James Franco and Seth Rogers, as they have a style of their own, which you get the hang of in the first half hour while they are in the USA, before leaving for N Korea.

Conclusion: really funny movie, but you need to be thick skinned to watch.

I saw this last year when it was pulled from release.
Worth a watch if it's on the telly or someone buys you the DVD.

I like Seth Rogan so knew the sort of humour ahead - but, yes be warned.

The Kim Yung guy is Randall Park, he's the dad in Fresh Off The Boat (American sitcom that's quite good, in a Wonder Years/Goldbergs vein)

I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which i`m dying are the best i`ve ever had.

Indeed, I watched this a while ago while the controversy was still buzzing, just out of morbid curiosity and was really taken aback at how solid a movie it was. Decent characters, a solid story, well told.

Could have done with a little less Franco (whom I despise as an 'actor') and maybe less tiger murder, and although the adverse publicity could cynically be seen as a desperate attention-grab, it really deserved the attention it did get

Thought one of the funniest moments was the.......

SPOILER:
Ricin laced chewing gum eaten by the bodyguard, and the guys watching to see when he would keel over and die

Forgot to say that the seven quid DVD comes with a free digital copy to put on your computer, or I-pad, etc.

So that's my oldest nephew sorted for Xmas, what a cheapskate I am. OK I will get him a new torch as well

Iiiiii'm out.

:D

Can't stand either Rogen or Franco. I look at these guys and cannot understand why on earth they would get paid real money for what they do.
