[VIDEO] Modern horror film gems

RJS (undefined) posted this on Wednesday, 22nd April 2015, 11:56

With so much horror flick content being churned out these days, and so many being overly noisy and relying on the jump scare, saw two recently that were actually quite original.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Avoided a lot of the usual cliches, and actually not quite a horror film, more of a ghost story.

The Conjuring

Whilst this came across as a sort of reworked Poltergiest set in the 70s, it had an awful lot of things that made me jump, whilst filled with enough originality to make it really enjoyable.

First one just looks like the stock cliches.
Second one looks little better done but you get so used to 'your now going to be scared' edits, whispering kids etc.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

First one is a remake of a 70's TV movie.

A horror standard statement is "Lets all split up and cover more ground"

Bad mistakeĀ
