[VIDEO] Stardust

Has anyone seen this? Completely had no idea it even existed. Also, can't quite work out what sort of film it is. Firstly from the following clip it looks like a fantasy comedy (Prince Bride sort of thing) with a great cast that I'd love to see...

But from the trailer it looks like a run of the mill fantasy epic with nothing funny about it at all...

It's decent. It was written by Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn (based on a novel by Neil Gaiman) and it's quite amusing. It does share qualities with old 80s fantasy films like The Princess Bride etc.

Not sure how you missed it. It's the one with that Take That song in it (the one that played constantly back when they became famous again).

Got it in poundland on DVD.

Best acting is from Robert De Nero, as the 'camp, but trying to hide it' Sky Captain.

Its a film you can repeat watch, over and over.

I've managed to carve out a life where I can completely miss Take That becoming famous again. :)

Cheers guys I'll have to hunt this down cheap on Blu-ray.

Also on Netflix.  And turns up on Film4 once in a while, was on at Christmas if I remember correctly.

You won't be disappointed Rob, it's a great film and a mesh of genres. Think along the lines of Princess Bride, Hitchhikers Guide and more recently Galavant and Into the Woods.

It's one of my favourites and the kids loved it too, even if alot of the humour went straight over their heads.

I remember watching it, I think we picked it up cheap in a supermarket on DVD, don't remember anything about it aprt from Ricky Gervais being annoying in it, so I guess I/we didn't think much of it!

I think my missus was disapointed by it 'cos she's a Neil Gaimam fan, and the cast made it look promising.

Seen this loads of times. Love it. Michelle Pfeiffer's boob-job is great!

I agree that Robert De Niro steals it!
