So watched the Blu-ray last night, and really enjoyed it! Sure, the plot felt a bit regurgitated from previous movies, but it was grown up with none of the childish prequel humour (and I mean gags aimed at 5 year olds rather than fart jokes) and Ray was brilliant, Fin was good too.

I did have one thing spoiled from a few months ago which turned out to be true annoyingly, and it only happened because I joined a youtube video live stream by accident and in the 1 minute I was there someone spoilt it for a joke in the live comments, because that's so funny isn't it.

Also, great to see Ford back as Solo, but really are they seriously expecting to make another Indiana Jones movie at his age?

I wonder what Lucas' storyline was going to be? Probably involved midiclorines (yay an entire movie without mentioned that stupid word!). Did feel a tiny bit odd not having the 20th Century Fox fanfar at the start.

Went to Tescos, picked up a Dark Side copy (The Light Side cover looks naff!), will get around to watching it eventually. No rush...

Force Awakens used way more CGI than you'd think:

Or maybe care, I don't think it's the amount of CGI people hate, more the reliance on it to replace actual story telling.

that's the things isn't it, ppl were really happy to hear that there would be a return to using models, but at the end of the day if a scene using them looks like it was built by me physcially, blindfolded using airfix kits, or bulit by me virtually, blindfolded using Maya( or I suppose the complaint was more that they looked like an operating theatre) the end result will look crap, and the illusion is ruined :)

Saying that, years ago we were more forgiving, or didn't look for/couldn't see the wires, black boxes so much :)

I never felt the 'posh' accent or big, shiny white teeth helped with the believability of her whole character.  Couldn't take to her at all.
