[VIDEO] PG-13 is ruining movies

Interesting video...

Not going to the cinema, I'm buying the extended non-PG versions of films usually anyway. But he makes some very good points about how it has ruined many modern films.

I would say nowadays ratings are not ruining movies, but cost, both for the price of ticket and consumables (food, snacks and drink).

A family ticket is now extortionate, and makes us have to be more choosy over which film we pick to go to see.

I used to go to the cinema if I thought it was worth going to see, and never thought of the price, but now I have cut down, by making a decision just to wait till its a £3 DVD from the supermarkets.

The cost of expensive cinema is going to kill it.

I can tell you exactly when cinema started to increase its prices expodentially, and that was the gimmicky 3D vision that came in.

Cinemas had to pay a fortune to get the equipment, and pay for the new technology and glasses. So you had a two tier payment, either go to see 2D or go see 3D.

I gave up 3D years ago, due mainly to cost, and the fact that the 3D picture is darker than 2D, but they are now passing on this cost to 2D films as well, to recoup.
