Okay, not really a bit part, but watched The Goonies last night and I never realised the main kid (the one with asthma) was Sean Astin, aka. Samwise from LotR!!!!

Interestingly both Sean Aston and Will Wheaton (the leads from SBM and The Goonies went on to appear in Toy Soldiers together. One of my favourite coming-of-age/terrorist/hostage type movies.

Various people in MacGyver. Terri Hatcher in a recurring role as Penny Parker, Christopher Judge who went on to work with RDA on Stargate and Cuba Gooding Junior.  Nana Visitor, Tia Carrere, Mayim Bialik in small roles, and of course Bruce McGill who played Macgyvers 'good ol' buddy , Jack Dalton' in several episodes, now a regular supporting role actor in many movies.

Gene Hackman in The Invaders as one of the aliens. series 2 ep7 that was on Horror channel yesterday.

James Woods in a Kojak episode on ITV 4 this morning.

I'm not sure she's that famous, but when watching an epsidoe of Frasier on Ch4 recently, I recognisedLaura Linney, (the main actress from the Big C) as one of Frasier's girl friends.

it's quite possible, many actresses of that sort of age, played his many girlfriends over the years ;)

Indeed, Felicity Huffman played one of his girlfreinds - best known for playing Lynette Scavo in Desperate Housewives and for being the actual wife of William H Macy.

Just seen James Murray (Primeval) as one of the 'Blonde Bigger Bum Boys' in Kevin & Perry go Large

Two more obscure ones, having just watched Army of Darkness (and finishing off the Evil Dead trilogy box set, picture quality on AoD wasn't remotely as bad as I feared)...

Babylon 5 fans may remember Patricia Tallman from Babylon 5 where she played a telepath in the later seasons. She is also a stuntwoman and played the witch in the cellar in AoD.

And Embeth Davidtz, who plays Ash's love interest has since been in Matilda and more recently plays Peter Parker's mother in the Spider Man reboot.
