The X Files on Blu-ray?

Jitendar Canth (Reviewer) posted this on Thursday, 15th November 2012, 14:50

So goes the rumour at the Digital Bits

I know this was shot on film, but it turns out that the effects, few that there are were done on SD before being composited in for broadcast.

But tantalising hints of a complete rebuild a`la TNG are dropped, as is the compelling thought that even though the first four seasons were broadcast in 4:3, the show as shot to be 16:9 safe, so just like Friends, it should all be watchable in widescreen.

Now this is one show I really do want to see HD`d if possible, as the old SD discs were lowres to the extreme...

Good in it`s time but has aged badly

Not even HD can save it

I'd be up for a BD release of this, at least the first four seasons anyway...

I finally rounded off my collection last winter when the final four seasons on DVD came down to a tenner each (which is about what they're worth). Can't see myself double-dipping again soon, but it certainly looks much better in HD, compared to the standards converted muck that we had to put up with.

I remember paying about that much too and that was after buying some seasons on VHS still got them in the loft-#I know I know I must clear out that stuff..... It was the booklet opening type. They later brought out a cheaper £30.00 version. Which p*ssed me off at the time. Might go for the BD if it is much better than the DVD version. Has to be much better though.
