Page 2 of The Dark Knight Rises: Batman 3
DVDs & Films Forum
I watched it before and my initial reaction is "meh".
I`m 100% going to see it and trust Christopher Nolan after previous films, but both this trailer and the previous one have actually dampened my excitement for the new film.

Was never gonna be any different from them.

The review I`ve seen elsewhere is a 4 out of 5.
Said definitely don`t go in expecting The Dark Knight though. Says in terms of tone, it is more similar to Batman Begins.
Says if you didn`t like that, then you won`t be turned by The Dark Knight Rises.

Although I thought TDK was a great film, I thought Batman Begins was the better of the two, so this is welcome news.
IMAX tickets booked for Monday afternoon, can`t wait! Pity the train fare to Manchester is almost as much as the bloody tickets! :(
I really wanted to go see in the IMAX.
Missus is heavily pregnant and due next Thurs, so a drive to Manchester to see a film is out of the question.
She wants to come see it with me on Friday if she can, but not sure if she can make the cinema seats for the length of the film. Will see how it goes as current feeling is she won`t make it until the due date, therefore I may have to see when I can squeeze it in.

Yeah same here. I did love TDK a great deal, but I just feel Batman Begins edges it in comic book terms. Fake reviews notwithstanding, I`ll be amazed if it isn`t still 5 star material. Even the missus wants to see it!

Harry Knowles of the fine cinema appreciation society website AICN has branded it "profoundly disappointing".
Apparently it didn`t live up to the high standards of such classics as Van Helsing, the Nightmare On Elm Street remake or Godzilla (1998).
Meanwhile, everyone else loves it.

Yeah Harry Knowles reviews I always ignore.
I do like AICN for the tv news, plus the fact that some of the preview reviews can give an indication, but Harry Knowles is pretty much always so far from the mark.
I saw Rotten Tomatoes comments sections have been put down after death threats to someone who wrote a bad review :s
Personally I`m hopeful on The Dark Knight Rises, as must admit all the trailers haven`t done it for me, but also love all of Christopher Nolan`s films, so fairly confident I`m going to like.

Haven`t seen anything of this yet. More brain-dead mayhem aimed at pubescent adolescents with pyromaniac tendencies?
