The assistant is talking out of his arse!

Firstly, Sky is far superior to ITV Digital, so go for them. We just got our bill through from Sky though, warning of a price hike early next year (full pack will cost £37pm insted of £35ish).

regarding the pruchase/merger of ITV and Sky, check bbc.news.co.uk. They seem to be having regular updates on the ITV Digital troubles. Last I read was that Sky were being invited to take a stake in ITV Digital, but this was being referred to the Monopolies and mergers commission.

The only story i`ve heard is off the BBC website. ITV digital have offered to share the Champions League with Sky (at the right price!!) because ITV are disappointed at the number of subscribers suposedly 15,000. Also heard ITV channel will be on Sky at the end of the year ??

There is supposed to be an announcement today on the future of ITV Digital. It is expected to say that Granada and Carlton who own ITV Digital are pulling out of the venture, because it is costing them too much money. This will probably result in either Sky or NTL buying it and then gradually closing it down.
