Alien lip synch problem?

chris21 (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 7th January 2001, 08:11

Don`t know if anyone else has had the same problem, but on my region 2 copy of Alien in the scene where ripley is talking to parker and brett in the tunnel( the bit with the smoking pipes) Sigourneys lips are out of time with the dialogue for one sentance. I took the disk back to the place i bought it and swapped it for another, however this one does the same thing in the same place. I think it might be a problem with the remastering of the soundtrack. If anyone else has had this problem please put my mind at rest. In the exact same bit with the isolated audio track on it plays with no problems so it cant be a scratch. My player is the Panasonic A160 and iv`e had no other problems with it.

thanks

I dont know about your problem directly, but if the problem didnt go away when you swapped the disc then it is your player that is messing up surely? Either that or the problem is not that noticible and so no one has reported it.

Well I would like to know as I am about to buy the same disc very soon.

Aye.

I`m using a Toshiba SD100 and noticed a lip sync problem at the end of "Enemy of the State". I get a feeling that it maybe the players at fault, although I`ve not experimented with friends better quality players. I haven`t yet seen FAQs about this particular film.
