I grabbed one of these the other day for secondary PCs, as I already own a lifetime licence for AnyDVD. Strange move this, but I guess they're hoping to tempt people into buying their other products. Unfortunately my only experience of Fengtao Software's other programs is their media player, which was terrible.

EDIT: And I can see, or rather hear why you didn't rate it. It has my DVD-ROM spinning like a jet engine! Can't even hear the audio on the movie.

Is that just for net enabled Blu-ray features? Or is it related to the encryption lookup?

It turns out that jet engine thing was a one time only deal, or at least when I let Passkey decode the disc instead of just cancelling it for a Region 2 disc on a Region 2 player as I normally do, it played nice and quietly...

Someone died!

It wasn't my lifetime...

They released 9.0.0.1 recently and it doesn't accept the old lifetime access. You now have to buy it, although they're 'kindly' offering 30% off for those who took advantage of the deal previously.
