Large SSD cheap

Rob, I remember you saying you wanted a large SSD, but can't remember how big a drive you were after. You might have already done it, but if not, this might interest you. And for everyone else, it's a SanDisk 256gb SSD for under £65.

I got a 512gb for around £150 just before xmas, thanks for thinking of me though!

It's a tempting price for my games PC which takes far too long to boot up these days. :)

Rob
Do the SSD ones that have a dedicated 8GB fast start (Go/Start or some other acronym) which allow an OS to launch extremely speedily actually work. I am not too sure but it would be great if an OS could be launched from this "SSD" Go/Star thingummyboab

I didn't know that was specific to SSD, I thought it just worked on any HDD? I usually hibernate anyway.

I think you mean SSHDs, which are regular mechanical hard drives with an 8GB SSD component that serves as a cache, allowing the most commonly used files (eg. the operating system) to load faster.

They work well for that purpose, as long as you're not expecting SSD speeds across the board.

Or maybe the laptops which use fast flash?

Hmm showing £129.99 for me. Not that this isn't a bad price.
