Not sure why they shot this in 3D but they converted the sequel? :(

Cost and consumer indifference. I had the 3D version (free with a Sony BD player) before I had a 3D TV, so I sold it and bought the regular edition. Then I got a 3D TV. Still haven't watched the regular version so can't bring myself to buy it again. Still haven't watched the sequel on BD for that matter (which is also the regular edition as it was a gift).

I have bought the 3D versions of some Marvel films recently, such as Winter Soldier (3D not bad and it was cheaper than the regular BD for some reason), and of course Guardians of the Galaxy (for the 30+ minutes of IMAX ratio scenes). Think I also have iron Man 3 in 3D as I traded for it, and my US four-disc Avengers set includes 3D, but none of the others warrant it.

As for the Fox Marvel flicks, I have Days of Future Past (because I remember it being quite good in 3D and it was only a couple of quid more) and The Wolverine (for the extended edition exclusive to the 3D set).
