kywy (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 20th November 2003, 21:40

From the 27th November Aldi have a 5.1 Surround speaker set with active Sub for 29.99, probably more suited to a PC setup or a smaller room, it`s a smart looking package with a three year warranty.
There is also some very decent computer items including a 15inch TFT monitor @ £169.99.
Check out these and the rest of the weekly specials here

£9.99 for a 4 port USB hub seems a good deal.

What is an `active` surround system? Will this work on any DVD Player? Am no expert on these things (obviously), but recall something about decoders being built in to surround systems (or not as the case may be). Or am I on the wrong wavelength here? Advice?

`Active` means self amplified, although the indication from the email is that only the subwoofer is `Active`. To get 5.1 sound you need a decoder - most DVD players do that now. Check if yours has 5 (or more) line-level phono outputs.

Hello there P. Face(with sunglasses),

I think that Aldi is your favourite shop.
Although this time i believe that this is quite a good offer, can`t really beat that for price.
i might even buy myself!!

Cheers,

mugumsy.

Damned with faint praise eh ?
I post bargains whenever I think they would be of interest to members, whether they are in Aldi. Lidl, Asda, Viking or any other retailer.

I know you have got it into your head that calling me P face is annoying me, but given that you have already been warned by the moderator about name calling, your continued actions are merely foolish and childish.

Please Grow Up

P.Face,

If you use silly sign-offs then expect that people take them at face value, i.e. P.Face.

It would be very easy for me to burn you to a crisp, but you know, you just make yourself look silly by persisting with this.
