RE: 4KUS DVD WRITER HELP NEEDED!

Ive had the 4kus for around three months now and had no problems at all with it.
Records from sky , tv and vhs no problem.
The interface is so easy even the wife can use it :)

I use datasafe dvdr ( from SVP) for anything permanent i want to keep, and phillips dvdrw disks as a replacement for the daily tasks of VHS and havent had one coaster yet.
As for compatability woks fine in our other two machines , the only problem i had early doors was forgetting to finalise a dvdr prior to loading into another machine!!!!!!! doh

One small criticism there is no means of passing the sky signal through the machine to my external amp to transmit in other rooms in the house.

RE: 4KUS DVR-230 NO RGB INPUT !!

Im writing this from work , but im sure when i set mine up there was a setting in there somewhere for widescreen etc.
Go into system setup and have a browse in there.
On a second note had mine a couple of weeks now and cant fault it.

RE: dvd editing

Cheers Skyvan,
How long does it take to transfer say a 2 hour dvd through the MPEG video wizard to PC????
Ive got plenty of DVD authoring software inc the ulead package you mention.

dvd editing

just started out in the workld of dvd and as a complerte novice have the following question to ask.
I recently purchased the 4KUS dvdr 230 from ASDA to replace my VHS and am over the moon with all aspects of it.
What i want to be able to do next is to edit the video i have captured on DVDR or RW be it either recorded TV or files transfered from my old VHS tapes on my PC and burn it to DVD again.
Can some one please provide me with or point me in the right direction as to what steps to take , what software is and extra hardware i may require?
I am a complete beginer in this area so i apologise for my in advance

Cheers

Jim

4kus dvr 230

Purchased the 4kus dvr 230 from Asda as my first foray into dvd recording, and have to say that its light years ahead of the old vcr , even the wife can use it :)
Totaly happy with it and quality seems fine in all settings up to 4 hours and 6 very watchable if you need to squeeze that many hours in.
DVDRW recordinge work fine with my other dvd players and also on my laptop but my main pc will not recognise them and keeps asking for a disk to be inserted.
Tried the disks that came with it and also some phillips disks i purchased seperatly.
Any ideas?????

on a second note i am about to buy some DVDR+ disks either 25 or 50 can anyone recomend any and also the best place to purchase over the net?

RE: Best starter dvdr

I understand that the Asda model is a rebadged liteon 5006 which carries the usual asda 3 year guarentee ( i think im correct ???)
What benifits would the extra cash for the panasonic give me over this ???

Best starter dvdr

looking to replace my VHS with a starter dvd recorder so come on all you clued up dvd types which do i go for???
4kus dvr230 @ £140 in Asda or
Matsui dvr 100 @ £120 in Currys ????

Any other machines of a simillar price around worth considering????

RE: Ikus dvr 230 asda

No offence taken.
As in new to this DVR lark and very sorry if i sound a little ignorant but which has the best specs and will be the better choice in the medium term? Whats this + and - all about?
I am looking to use it as a replacement for my VHS recorder so i can take recordings from TV and SKY on DVD to watch at work and when stuck in hotels on my laptop.
Also would like to transfer my old home movie collection from VHS to DVD .

heres another review of the 4kus
