RE: bush dvd/vcr combo recorder dvrhs02

Just looking at this on the argos website, as it`s on special offer.
What is the recording quality like? Video and DVD recorder.
Thank you. :)

Multi regional DVD recorder wanted

Our Daewoo DVD/VCR combo has bit the dust.
I would like to get a DVD recorder next, a cheapish one if possible. But it has to be multiregional or hackable. Most of our DVDs are rg1-rg3.

Any advice would be much appreciated. :)
I won`t rule out another VCR/DVD combo, but our Daewoo one was absolute rubbish so won`t go there again!

Ta much. :)

RE: Any X-Files fans here?

Huge x-files fan here. :)

Can`t make much out - could you make them a bit bigger?

Gonna have to redo. My photobucket account is playing up. Will resize them manually and do it that way cause they`re either too big or too small when on photobucket. It`s never done it before. Hmm.

RE: What does everyone drive?

P-reg Vauxhall Astra, 1.4 LS.

RE: Little Britain Live - brilliant! :-)

For those that have seen it, the Emily sketch has now changed from the bar. It takes place in Emilys house... where (for those that haven`t)

SPOILER:
Paul Putner is a plumber, and Emily does a little pussy cat dolls routine on him, after sending florence off to have her bath. She asks him, "Don`t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me" etc... and then goes to snog him, when Florence comes back in an old fashioned bathing suit, when the plumber spots this he says how he likes to dress as a lady and he admires men who do, the ladies of course tell him they`re not men. The plumber then rips his overalls off to reveal ladies red lacey underwear and stockings. :D Which Paul told us the guys had bought it especially for him from Ann Summers. It`s MUCH better than the pub sketch. :D

RE: Little Britain Live - brilliant! :-)

Erm, just a few. *coughsixtimescough* I love it! Saw my last two shows last week at the Plymouth Pavilions. But hoping to get to one Weekend London show.

Me and some familiar fellas. ;)

Hugglets

Want that one!

The Putner, supporting a black eye.

Yay!

Does anyone happen to know the name of theme tune for this excellent show?

It`s Sigur rós, Hoppipolla. From their album. `Takk`... I have the song, it is bloomin` beautiful.

I missed the entire series of Planet Earth. Cause of work and having technophobe parents, so I couldn`t even get it recorded.

*sobs*

RE: Mp3 Voice recording

Those cheapo ones from Tesco have a voice recorder on them.

3 Christmases ago my friend gave me a battered-up back-less old doll`s house to renovate as a project (currently half-done). I haven`t touched it since I moved it last year... my phone was inside one of the downstairs rooms.

Amityville Dollhouse springs to mind... Spppppppooky! (:¦

RE: cd wow Bargains

Ordered Team America, but it`s now showing blank on my order status. :( Just the order number and pending dispatch, the DVD title is blank.
Seems I won`t be getting it then. :(
Never mind.

RE: cd wow Bargains

Ah poo. Just bought Eminem from BangCD for £5.99 thought that was cheap! It was on CDwow for 6.99 the night I checked. :(

RE: Cello DVD recorder £49.99 in Co-op

The dinky corner shop near me have them.(plymouth) or they did a few days ago, they`re behind till.

RE: MX2.Com web site problems

Perhaps it`s because it`s http://www.mx2.co.uk/
I use them a lot and i`ve never had problem. :)

RE: Finepix F440 a snip at £79.99

Yeah you can record movies with sound. They`re not that great, but it`s ample enough for messing around with.

I`m well annoyed, I paid alot more for mine just a few months ago. Poo. :(

But it`s an ace camera. :)
Optical zoom is ok, I was quite far back when I saw Little Britain live, but still managed to get some good photos!

RE: What earphones do you use in your iPod / MP3 player?

Quote:
These Creative EP-630 earbuds get good reviews as well - anyone tried them?
LOL! Should`ve read whole post first! ;)
Yup, I have these... very very good. They come with 3 different size in ear bits so they fit really well. :) And more hygenic cause you can wash the bits that go in your ears. :)

RE: What earphones do you use in your iPod / MP3 player?

I use these they`re ace. The sound is terrific and they`re comfy (and the little rubber in ear bits come off so I can wash them!).
They`re great for using in work, I can`t hear the noise anymore! Woo!

RE: Recording internet radio ???

I use a program called Free Hi-Q recorder, which is free. But with this, you can only record at 96kpbs. But that`s ample for audio.
Just remember to turn all your system sounds off when recording, because it records all sound that comes through your soundcard. :D
Bit annoying when you`re near the end of something and someone sends you a message on MSN or something, as it records the dings. :D

RE: Amstrad e-mailer at Tesco

I bought one for £9.99 a couple months ago from Sainsburys. But I took it back within half an hour. It requires subscriptions for it to work... something like 97p per day, up to 300 messages... a lot of money for something which when you surf online you block! Whilst they`re coming through apparently the phone wouldn`t work. Well, I didn`t wanna take the chance. Took it back... i`ll stick to mailing from my mobile if I can`t get online!

RE: Fantastic 4 (2 disc) - £6.99!

I thought stuff from Jersey wasn`t subject to customs charges? :/

RE: 256Mb MP3 Player £9.97

Quote:
there were not in the same place as the other mp3 stuff

Nope. At Tesco Lee Mill, they were with the tv aerials, scart leads etc. :)

RE: 256Mb MP3 Player £9.97

The girl that served me didn`t take the security device off, I was stopped by a big scary security man as I walked through the door! I bought my shopping first, then my mum bought shopping, I had to take all her stuff out of the shopping trolley to find what had caused the alarms to go off, all the while getting the evils from the security guard!

Just sorting out the songs I wanna listen to in work tomorrow before loading on the MP3 player. :D

RE: 256Mb MP3 Player £9.97

Bought me one of these last night. My mum is a bit miffed, she bought a 256mb MP3 player for my nephew for £20 from sainsburys just a week ago.
The headphones aren`t to good, sounds really tinny.I`ll be using my sony ones for it. And the battery lasted about 3 songs... that could be cause it`s a cheapo battery they include and it might have been sat around on a warehouse shelf for ages. I`ve just bought me some rechargeable AAA`s from ebay, will see if they last longer in it. Bought it to last an 8 hour shift... I don`t wanna be carting in cases of batteries to last me through the day!

RE: How easy to fit new CD player in an Astra?!

So how do I swap the leads over? Which end do I pull them out of? The white connector or the black? Or both. :/
How do I get them to stay in, cause at the moment they`re in with little clips... will have to be careful getting it out. :o

RE: How easy to fit new CD player in an Astra?!

Cheers guys. :)
Not sure I like the idea of having to swap wires around though!

I figured, earlier today, that the white connector is the one that goes into the back of the stereo... :D

Will be happy once it`s in and that first disc is spinning!

Thanks once again. :)

RE: How easy to fit new CD player in an Astra?!

Mine is just a bog standard cassette player, there are no steering wheel controls or anything.
I assume, if my cassette player has the basic iso(?) connector, I can plug that straight into the unit?
If it`s the black connector type, then I plug the wiring kit that came with the stereo into that then that into the stereo. If not, then I will have to get additional adaptors.

Oh fye! I think i`ll be pulling my cassette player out tomorrow and having a look.

I never had this worry when I fit my rover stereo. :/ I dunno why worried now! LOL!

How easy to fit new CD player in an Astra?!

Hi all. :)

Just bought me one of those Shark CD/MP3 player jobbies from Maplins.

I have a P-reg Vauxhall Astra... any one know if I will need any additional connectors etc for this stereo to work in this car? I haven`t taken the cassette player out yet, as the CD player is a christmas present, so I`m not allowed to fit it yet, but if I need any other connectors I`d like to order them in, so I can try and install it on christmas day! I`m lost without a cd player! I sold my rover with my other cd player in. :( That was easy to install as the connectors were all the same. The leads that came with the new stereo, I have no idea if they`re the same as I have in there now.

Or do you think i`d be better off paying someone to install it for me? Will it just slot in? The connectors...

RE: Telewest TV Users

Yeaaah! I thought something had gone tits up cause watching something yesterday, we couldn`t see one half of the writing on screen. Just reset the settings! I didn`t think of doing this earlier, pillock I am!

Cheers!

RE: CD WOW Little Britain Series 1+2

That is very good... I have the single DVD sets myself!! My others are signed by Matt and David, and I don`t wanna play the actual DVDs now!
Might get this meself!
