One of my favourite "Knight battle" movies called as William Shakespeare`s Henry V has now got it`s place in my dvd collection. It`s been almost 10 years from the last time when I saw this great film and I was thrilled to see from the dvd disc.
The video transfer is quite good, because even this is a "dark movie" the quality of the picture holds sharp from the beginning to the end. Some indoor scenes weren`t as good as many outdoor scenes, but overall the video is pretty nice. The audio transfer ain`t as good as the video transfer, because it`s a Dolby Digital Surround 2.0 and even there`s a great score by Patrick Doyle it doesn`t sound so superb. Many speaking sequences were pretty good, specially when Kenneth Branagh started to talk. Why o why didn`t they do some DTS for this disc. The movie is great in it`s uniq way, but just too short even it runs about 138 minutes, but still something was missing, maybe I was too hungry. The hardest part for me was to understand the "Shakespeare" without the subtitles and it took some time to understand whatta hell were they saying.
In the end i learned more`n more, but then it was already in the end, damn. The menus are pretty ok, with some overpounding Doyle`s score on the backround + old weak trailer. If you`re a fan of Branagh as I am then get this disc. If you don`t understand English then don`t get this disc. If you want to get a great movie into your collection, then get this as fast as you can!
