Synopsis:
Finders keepers. Any abandoned ship floating in international waters can be claimed and towed to port by whoever is fortunate enoughito find it. Or, in the case of one team of salvage experts, unfortunate enough.

A decent "creep them up" thriller a-la Sixth Sense. Nothing too unusual about the plot, a decent twist revealed at the end and a few good scenes (look out for the opera singer) which are good enough to raise this above the run of the mill films of it`s genre. Much better than the over hyped "Below".

Picture is good, nice dark colours, as you would expect for a new film and a WB DVD.

Audio is very good, the creaks and groans of the ship will work your subwoofer and the surrounds deliver a creepy feeling when needed.

Features are the usual making of etc. Interesting but nothing too spectactular.

Overall a pretty good thriller. Worth buying on R1 as it`s not due out on R2 for a good while. I would recommend at least a rental.

Just one thing: Warner Bros. STOP USING THOSE HORRIBLE CARDBOARD BOXES!!!!

This is one of those Hollywood movie that would`ve worked as a B film instead of an A list production because it fails on just about every other level. This is one of those horror movies where I`m rooting for the ghosts to bump off the each member of the crew one by one because they`re all so stupid they deserve whatever happens to them. After a strong opening the film just seems to go through the usual slasher movie motions. The movie does have a few strong points: the opening and the fact that it`s the goriest horror film I`ve seen in recent years. This is presented in a matted 1.85:1 letterbox format with a decent video transfer though nothing to write home about and has a very good 5.1 surround track (especially effective if watching it a night with the lights out). I can`t comment on the extra feature because I haven`t veiwed them. Others may find more something out of this to enjoy but I feel this is another film that wastes an otherwise talented cast.
